Brendan Fevola wins I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

BRENDAN Fevola has been crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! tonight.

The former AFL footballer is the second sportsman to win the reality show after former cricketer Freddie Flintoff won the inaugural season last year.

The father-of-three, who opened up about his time in rehab during his time in the jungle camp, said he went on the show to counter the negative press he's received.

"It wasn't about anything else for me except to try to change the perception about me," he said.

"I wanted them (the viewers) to see the real me."

He also took the time to thank the show's 400-odd crew.

"You make us feel safe; you're so welcoming. You're so nice to us," he said.

NRL legend "The Chief" Paul Harragon finished runner-up while former bachelorette Laurina Fleure came third.

"He really is one of the all-time greats," Harragon said.

Fleure also left with a title, setting a new record for the reality franchise for the most tucker trials faced by a single person.

Earlier in tonight's grand  final show, the three finalists competed in their final challenge, ziplining  high above a dam while trying to hit a target in the water below.

While none of them managed to land a direct hit, hosts Julia Morris and Chris Brown gave them a free pass to receive food during their final few days in camp.

They were also reunited with their loved ones, sharing a campfire-cooked dinner of chicken and vegetables.

Fevola pledged half of his winnings to runner-up Harragon's charity, The Mark Hughes Foundation.

The other half of his winnings will go towards the final donation made by The Shane Warne Foundation before the organisation, which recently came under scrutiny, closes.
