Brennan has work to do

FORMER Grafton golfer Michael Brennan has a power of work ahead of him to make the cut of the New Zealand Open.

Brennan shot a three-over par 75 on day one of the tournament, which is being played at the picturesque Hills Golf Club in Queenstown.

A trio of Americans lead the tournament - Todd Demsey, Alex Prugh and Josh Teater - on seven-under.

Queenstown experienced unseasonably cold weather yesterday - the temperature dropped to three degrees at one point. Howling wind also made conditions tough for players.
