Bright shirt fundraiser a sight for impaired eyes

BRIGHT Shirt Friday is back and organiser Scott Taylor hopes to see people across Grafton wearing their most dazzling tops and dropping money into donation tins around town.

The event runs every Friday through summer and aims to raise money and awareness for Vision Australia.

Bright Shirt Friday is now in its third year after Mr Taylor began the trend to raise money for a worthwhile charity.

"It's good to liven the place up a bit," he said.

"We figured Bright Shirt Friday was an appropriate way of raising money for a vision charity."

Mr Taylor said more businesses had jumped on board to support the fundraiser.

He said he was passionate about the cause because the ability to see was so important to people.

He did admit that people sometimes stopped him in the street and commented on his attire of choice.

"I get some strange looks when I'm walking across the street of a morning," Mr Taylor said with a laugh.

"I had to expand my bright shirt collection."
