Aloisi demands better service to Maccarone

FEED Massimo Maccarone and he will score.

That's the message Brisbane coach John Aloisi will continue to drum into his players after the veteran Italian forward's clinical strike in Roar's 2-0 weekend win over Western Sydney Wanderers at ANZ Stadium.

It was the 38-year-old former Empoli marksman's fourth goal of the season and Aloisi has no doubt Maccarone will score more - provided he gets the service.

"We know that Massimo can score goals (and) we still think that we can deliver more for him," Aloisi said.

"We still got into areas (against the Wanderers) where we didn't really create what we could have, and that's (also) getting Massimo into those areas because if you give him the ball in the box, something's going to happen.

"He's got four goals and we know that he can still do a lot better."

Roar finished the round in eighth spot on the A-League ladder, with Aloisi confident of rising further up the table with an upcoming run of three-straight home matches.

"That's a big positive for us," Aloisi said.

Those games include Saturday's clash against cellar dwellers Wellington Phoenix, with the game being played at Gold Coast venue Cbus Super Stadium due to Suncorp Stadium being unavailable because of a Paul McCartney concert being staged there on Saturday night.
