Brothers toast a memorable season

BROTHERS Cricket Club celebrated a successful 2009-10 season, in which it won the Premier League title with an emphatic win over Westlawn, with its awards night last week.

As well as the premiership, the club also picked up awards for both senior and junior club champions in what can only be described as a stellar year.

They were runners-up to Westlawn in the night competition and their under-12 side under the leadership of captain Mitch Kroehnert were also victorious.

At their presentation night, the prestigious George Harvey Shield was awarded to top-order batsman and handy first-change bowler Mick Summers.

Jake Kroehnert picked up the Lee Cubbin Shield with Lyn Rudder awarded the Ryan Family Shield and Greg McCarthy being named Club Person of the Year.

The club has also announced the Clocktower Hotel as their new sponsor for the 2010-11 season.
