Bullets fired up for 36ers showdown

BASKETBALL: The fuse for a fiery clash has been lit with Brisbane Bullets star Daniel Kickert taking aim at Adelaide after being fined $1000 for headbutting 36ers' Anthony Drmic ahead of tonight's NBL rematch.

Kickert (pictured left) described the incident during Brisbane's 105-87 win in Adelaide on Saturday as "incidental contact”.

"(It was) nothing much, didn't get him a headlock or anything like that,” said Kickert, citing Sydney Kings' Aleks Maric's recent incident with Cairns' Mark Worthington.

He avoided a one-game ban with an early plea.

Kickert was also fined $500 for a spiteful exchange with 36ers coach Joey Wright on social media.

The Adelaide coach was also fined $500.

Kickert had reacted on social media after being cited by the 36ers after Saturday's game - second-placed Brisbane's third straight win.
