Busy days ahead for Grafton florist

OPENING a new business can be a busy time for anyone, but with Mother's Day only two days away, Grafton florist Sharron Collett knows this weekend could be hectic.

“It's probably the second busiest time of the year, after Valentine's Day,” she said.

Sharron already owns the florist business Pink Petals in Harvey's Arcade off Prince Street and today has opened a new branch, The Link, at Grafton Shoppingworld.

She said the new store would focus more on potted plants, hampers and gifts, as well as stocking a wide range of flowers.

For Mother's Day this Sunday, she suggested traditional chrysanthemums, chocolates and pampering mum for the day.

Sharron has lived in Grafton since moving up from Newcastle in 1990 and said she had never looked back.

“I love the trees, the wide roads and the river, I love it all,” she said.
