Camping popular for long weekend

VISITORS have been making the Clarence Valley one of many stopover points in their travels during the Easter and Anzac Day long weekend, but numbers have not broken any records.

Intermittent storms and showers, interspersed with hot, sunny days, have meant people are taking advantage of a range of activities and destinations to fill their holiday free time, including shopping, going to the beach and taking long country drives.

Camping on the banks of the inland rivers has proven to be an option of choice for many local and interstate visitors, with riverbank space at a premium.
