Venetian Carnival extravaganza all set for tomorrow night

FINAL rehearsals are under way for tomorrow night's Venetian Carnival on the banks of the Clarence River in Grafton.

Directed by Gail Harding and David Bridge, the free event includes a fabulous line-up of performances including Siskin River, the Big River Rockers, South Grafton Public School Choir and Dance Group, South Grafton High School Aboriginal Dancers, Grafton Junior Physical Culture Group, Studio 1 Academy of Dance students and FDZ (band).

Organisers are crossing their fingers the wet weather stays away as there is no wet-weather venue booked as a back-up for the event.

The carnival starts at 6pm and finishes about 9pm.

Fireworks will start about 8.45pm.

The Venetian Carnival will be held at the river end of Prince St near Memorial Park.
