Loving the Clarence Valley life

GRAFTON’S Mrs Netball, Cathy Walls, cannot think of a better place to live than the Clarence Valley.

At the moment the president of the Grafton Netball Association is excited at the prospect of taking the 17-years team away to Campbelltown during the long weekend for the State Age Championships. As the manager of the team she has high hopes for her girls.

“It’s an example of the great opportunities there are for young sports people in the Clarence Valley,” Cathy said.

“These girls have been competitive every year they have been to the championships.”

Away from netball Cathy cannot think of a better place than Grafton, where she has lived for 28 years, to bring up a family.

“It has great schools and great sporting facilities,” she said.

“I’ve seen players like Verity Simmons go on from junior sport to a spot in the AIS.

“All my three girls (Samantha, Nicolette and Ashleigh) are working or studying in Brisbane, but they can’t wait to get back here for a visit.”
