Centre in the middle of action

There were some close games, while other team ran away with the score on Wednesday night at the futsal.

Westlawn United smashed the Cheeky Cheetahs 9-1 and the Strikers downed the Terminators 7-1.

Another thrashing came from the Demons who played the Hampsters.

The Demons scored an impressive 22 goals to 0 - obviously these teams didn’t eat their weetbix!

But at least all these teams are having a go which is excellent. Better luck next week boys.

While in the senior games, things were a little closer.

Santa’s Little Helpers got a little edge over Rad United and won 7-6, and the Gunners were too good for Rad 2 defeating them 7-4.

There was some great netball on Tuesday night, with three new teams playing in their first round and two even coming away with the win.

Although it wasn’t a case of beginners luck, just some well honed netball skills from new team Team Awesome, with most of the ladies experienced netballers.

Team Awesome defeated the Crownies 14-7 and will be a team to watch in the coming weeks.

New mixed team the Arsep Unchers also played extreamly well, considering five out of their seven-player team had never stepped foot on the netball court.

To some this may seem daunting however, the players took it all in their stride and only lost by five goals to well oiled team Fruity Lexia.

I predict that by the end of the term Arsep Unchers will be a strong team to beat.

It was a well-matched game between ladies teams Tucabia and Leigh’s Team.

Good shooting from sisters Leigh Predo and Jessie McLennan saw Leigh’s Team slowly edge in front.

However Tucabia came back very strongly in the last quarter with some excellent goals from Jasmin Lee.

Tucabia ladies did very well throughout the game as for three quarters of it they only five players, but it wasn’t enough, Leigh’s team defeated them 23-16.
