THE Daily Examiner had its name up in lights alongside the host of businesses crowned with awards of excellence, as Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan took the stand in parliament.
The Daily Examiner Clarence Valley Business Excellence Awards was the sole topic of his 1.45-minute spiel to the parliament on Monday.
"I'd like to acknowledge a few people today, Adam Gordon, Erica Fletcher - the whole team who put on the Clarence Valley Business Excellence Awards on Saturday night at the Yamba Golf and Country Club," Mr Hogan said.
"The Clarence Valley Business of the Year were Fresh Dental Care... sponsored by The Daily Examiner.
"Trainee of apprentice of the year Ruth Finlay who works for Addictive hair."
Mr Hogan went on to congratulate all winners from the awards night and didn't fail to mention the significance of Spar Maclean after it took out two category awards.
"Spar Maclean - once again I congratulate Bob and Judith Little and the team. It is the longest continually running grocery story in Australia, Madam Deputy Speaker, running since 1883," he said.
Anyone who missed out on the 48-page booklet inserted inside Monday's paper, with all the winners, sponsors and awards information, should drop into The DEX office and grab a copy.
