SURFING: Challenging conditions greet longboarders

THE Clarence Head Longboarders started their 2015 round of competitions at Turners Beach on the weekend.

Surfers were greeted with challenging three to four foot waves, with the odd six-footer thrown in to keep everyone on their toes.

The winds stayed offshore for most of the day.

New memberships were taken and the club was stoked to have some new juniors signed up, which is a great sign for the future of longboarding in our area. One family travelled from Evans Head to join the club.

All in all it was a great day and a great way to start the new year of club competition.
