Chance to be tourism’s voice

A VACANCY exists on the Clarence Tourism Advisory Committee (CTAC) and council is seeking expressions of interest from people passionate about tourism.

Clarence Valley Mayor, Richie Williamson, said it was unfortunate, but because of family commitments Claudia Olenburg had to resign.

"The committee has certainly gained some momentum since its first meeting just over seven months ago," he said.

"Having established an understanding of existing operations and strategic context, CTAC is now moving into a more strategic planning stage, so it's exciting times ahead.

"I'd like to thank outgoing member, Claudia Olenburg for her contribution. Her skills and expertise provided knowledgeable input in the group and we appreciate Claudia contributing her valuable time."

The purpose of the tourism advisory committee is:

To provide advice to council on the development of policy and strategy relating to tourism in the Clarence Valley.

Advise council on tourism-related issues that impact on the community.

Act as the conduit for tourism industry to council.

Applications can be obtained from http://www.clarence.nsw.gov.au/tourismadvisory or customer service centres. Applications close March 30.
