Charlotte steps up for Showgirl

PUTTING her hand up for the 2011 Maclean Showgirl title was an easy decision for Charlotte Headon to make.

The 20-year-old Maclean local has seen a few of her friends go through the competition and helped her best friend, Shandon Smith, through the Jacaranda Queen Quest last year.

“All of them had such a great time doing it and they all met some pretty amazing people so I thought why not?” she said.

“I really want to push myself out of my comfort zone through my involvement with Showgirl and improve my public speaking skills, as well as savour the new and unique experience and hopefully meet some people I wouldn’t have otherwise.”

At the moment, Charlotte is working at Pete’s Bakehouse in Maclean while she completes a management course.

“Hopefully that will lead to a business degree in Brisbane next year. Ultimately, I would love to work in event management. I think it would be loads of fun,” she said.

Nominations for Maclean Showgirl are still open.

To nominate for the title, contact Nancy Brown on 6645 3246 or 0418 797 206.

The deadline for entries is April 29.
