Storm chasers predict bumper wet season for Gladstone

CENTRAL Queensland Storm Chasers are predicting a bumper wet season for Gladstone.

Armed with an iPad and camera, the group of 12 has been chasing the region's wildest weather since 2008.

New Bundaberg recruit Carena Pelenstov said Gladstone would see many more storms this season.

"On the first day of the season, we got a storm," Carena said.

"And we've had a few storms stick around for three to four days in a row."

While Gladstone doesn't have a local storm chaser, recruits in neighbouring towns often chase the wild weather into the region.

"We've had some Bundy people chase the storms to 1770 and Miriam Vale," Carena said.

What sort of storm season do you think we're in for this time?

This poll ended on 26 December 2013.
