POLICE have confirmed the tragic news of the drowning death of a toddler on a rural property at Upper Orara west of Coffs Harbour.

About 4.30pm on Saturday, the two-year-old boy was found unconscious in his family's swimming pool.

Paramedics performed CPR at the scene and he was as taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus by ambulance but could not be revived.

Westpac Lifesaver Four was tasked to the location but the alert was cancelled soon after.

Officers from Coffs-Clarence Local Area Command remain at the property investigating the incident and will hand their findings to the Coroner.
