Clarence Valley affected by second Telstra network outage

TELSTRA has apologised for yet another network outage which is estimated to have affected eight million customers.

Reports of the outage started coming some time after 5pm yesterday, and for some users continued overnight.

Last night Telstra stated they were "progressively restoring mobile services and anticipate returning to normal soon", and this morning Telstra CEO Andrew Penn apologised over the issue.

He said the problem began after an issue which caused a large number of services to be disconnected at the same time, causing extreme congestion.

It comes after a nation-wide outage just over a month ago, which was blamed on "human error".
