Clarence Valley teens dental check

TEENAGERS in the Page  electorate to book an appointment for a dental check subsidised by the Medicare Teen Dental Plan.

Member for Page Janelle Saffin said Medicare Australia had started sending out this year’s vouchers for preventative dental checks to thousands of eligible teenagers across Page.

“The Medicare Teen Dental Plan is about helping teenagers into the habit of having regular dental checks to reduce the risk of major dental problems later in life," she said.

“The vouchers are for the 2011 calendar year and provide up to $159.85 towards the cost of a preventative dental check, consisting of an oral examination and, if required, X-rays, a scale and clean and oral hygiene instruction,” Ms Saffin said.

To be eligible, you must be entitled to Medicare benefits, aged 12-17 for at least part of the calendar year, and be receiving certain government benefits individually or as part of a family.

More information about the Medicare Teen Dental Plan and eligibility, visit or call Medicare Australia on 132 011.
