CLIVE Palmer has filed a $10 million defamation claim against Federal Employment Minister Michaelia Cash in the Brisbane Supreme Court.
The claim, obtained by The Courier-Mail, alleges Ms Cash has implied the mining magnate is a "greedy self-serving entrepreneur who does not care for the welfare of his employees".
Mr Palmer had earlier issued a legal threat to Ms Cash demanding $250,000 in compensation, although he offered to reduce it to $100,000 if she signed a draft apology letter penned by him.
But the claim, filed yesterday, is for $10 million, plus interest and costs of court.
The claim points to comments Mr Palmer says Ms Cash made in April last year, including that the blame for Queensland Nickel's collapse lay "fairly and squarely with Clive Palmer".
