Club opens its doors to visitors

ON SUNDAY, Valley residents had the chance to see the inner workings of the Yamba Surf Life Saving Club during an open day.

The open day - an initiative of Surf Life Saving NSW - gave curious community members the opportunity to tour the Main Beach club house, see what facilities the club offers and to meet some of the members.

Club president Alan Schofield said while they hadn't exactly been inundated with visitors, there were several enthusiastic groups who came along to the clubhouse to enjoy a tour and a friendly chat.

"We also had a few people join up on the day too - including an entire family, which was good," Mr Schofield said.
