Barber to be Redmen fly-half

FINDING a seasoned five-eighth has been an Achilles heel for the Redmen first-grade rugby side in recent years.

Fly-half is arguably the most important position in any rugby side and this season first grade coach Brett Graham is hoping league convert Trent Barber has what it takes to make the position his own in 2010.

Graham, a tough and uncompromising half-back who has been the back-bone of Grafton rugby for over a decade is excited about his new playing partner and what he has to offer to a side struggling to put points on the board.

Barber will be tested today when the Redmen travel to Lennox Head to take on the competition leaders and last season’s premiers.

Graham said he was happy with the side’s performance last game.
