Coach Stuart pays for outburst at Eels post-match presser

THE Eels have issued an apology after being hit with a $10,000 fine and breach notice, after coach Ricky Stuart's explosive press conference on Sunday night.

Speaking after his team's 28-22 loss to the Titans, Stuart let fly at the match officials, saying the game is going backwards and the referees and making "bulls..t" errors.

"The Parramatta Eels and head coach Ricky Stuart wish to apologise for any offence taken from the language used in the post-match press conference," an Eels statement said.

"The NRL has informed the club that it will be given 10 days to respond to the notice.

"The club will use that time to review the breach before making any further comment."

Meanwhile, New Zealand has called 21-year-old Storm forward Tohu Harris into its squad as a replacement for Jeremy Smith.

Smith faces a grade-three dangerous contact charge by the NRL match review committee, from the game against Newcastle on Saturday night.

And James Tedesco, Joel Reddy, Curtis Sironen, Nathan Peats and Adam Cuthbertson were called into the City squad, with five players pulling out.
