Cocaine trafficker wants to buy a bar at Mooloolaba

A COCAINE trafficker and former DJ caught up in a drug operation on the Gold Coast in 2013 is seeking to buy a bar on the Sunshine Coast.

Joseph Charles Sandagon escaped jail time at Brisbane Supreme Court earlier today after pleading guilty to trafficking cocaine and seven counts supplying dangerous drugs, including MDMA and cocaine.

The court heard he was seeking to purchase a bar at Mooloolaba with a person who he currently worked with.

He stood up in court this morning during his sentence hearing and told Justice Roslyn Atkinson that he had turned his life around.

Sandagon said the "rock star" life was something he no longer looked for and that he wanted to move forward as an adult, and this was why he stopped using drugs.

Justice Atkinson sentenced him to three years jail with immediate parole.
