Noah concentrates on Lego creation

HIS brow furrowed in deep concentration, Noah Cox carefully lined up the construction equipment for his new project.

Although only four years old, the Grafton boy clearly thought the stakes were high in yesterday's Lego building competition at Grafton Shoppingworld.

His dad David watched from the sidelines as Noah competed against other children aged between three and seven, including his brother and sister, in the first heat of the week-long competition.

“They are having a great time,” he said.

Yesterday's Lego competition was run by Northcoast Productions and saw children aged from three to 14 compete in two separate age groups.

Organiser Simon Griffiths said children had made everything from farms to planes to castles.

“We're looking for their imagination,” he said.

Entrants were judged on use of colour, and imaginative use of components.

The top three children from each heat will progress to the finals on Friday at Grafton Shoppingworld.
