RUGBY UNION: The Iluka Cossacks have come to develop an attacking brand of rugby union, and that's not about to change now the finals are looming.

With two games left in the regular season to go, coach Tony Wiseman said there's a spring in the player's step as they get ready to take on Murwillumbah in Iluka today.

"It's important for us to get the win this week as it sets up a match for against Yamba for second place,” Wiseman said.

"There's not too much between Evans Head, Yamba and us so I think it might be hard for the team that comes third in the finals, which is why it's important for us to secure second place.”

Wiseman said he expects Murwillumbah to be a tough opposition in what will be the Cossack's last home game of the regular season.

"Murwillumbah knocked over Yamba two weeks ago, then forfeited against Evans Head, so I think they'll be interested to see how we are,” he said.

"I'm expecting we will throw the ball around and I'm expecting us to win. We've got our own way and it's all about scoring tries and playing high risk rugby, and the guys are on board with that.”
