Courtyard dishes up more

GRAFTON diners are about to get two new restaurant choices, with the opening of an Indian and a pizza restaurant in the next few months.

Both restaurants will open in the Courtyard area of the Shoppingworld complex.

Pizza restaurant franchise Pizza Capers will open on Friday, September 13.

Pizza Capers general manager Chris Churchmichael said the store would run as a corporate outlet until the company found a suitable franchisee.

"Local people make the best franchisees and we would love any interested Grafton residents to get in touch with us via our website if they are interested in this opportunity," he said.

"Our Pizza Capers stores do really well in regional towns. Communities have embraced our stores in regional NSW towns such as Port Macquarie, Bathurst, Dubbo and Orange."

The date for the opening of the other restaurant, Cafe Saffron, offering authentic Indian, has not been set.

Restaurant owner Parwinder Singh, who also owns Club Saffron in Lismore, has not been able to set a firm date but said the restaurant should be open in October or November.

"Everything we offer is fresh and cooked from authentic ingredients, so diners will get the genuine flavours of Indian cuisine," he said.

"All dishes are available in mild, medium or hot, and vegan and gluten-free diners are also well catered for."

A recent reviewer on described the food at Club Saffron as "the best Indian food I've ever tasted".

Cafe Saffron will offer a la carte dining and also cater for functions and group bookings.

The Courtyard is an alfresco dining precinct offering a diverse range of restaurants.

It is on the corner of Fitzroy and Villiers Sts, adjacent to Grafton Shoppingworld.
