Cowen hopes to keep Iluka on winning run

LCCA CRICKET: Former Iluka captain Dave Cowen will aim to ride a wave of momentum into the side's Maclean Bowling Club LCCA first grade match-up against Maclean United at Yamba Oval after hitting the winning runs against Harwood last weekend.

Not only did he contribute at the end of the innings with the bat, Cowen was strict with the ball to finish with figures of 2 for 29 from eight overs, while the rest of the Iluka bowlers faced a punishing attack from Harwood opener Geoff Simmons.

Maclean come into today's contest off the bye and field a refreshed team as they aim to get their season on track after earlier rain disruptions.

With a win, Iluka can leapfrog United into second place on the first grade ladder only five points behind leaders Wanderers, who have the bye today.

In other LCCA first grade action, both Harwood and Lawrence will be aiming for redemption after suffering losses last week.

Harwood will field a slightly weakened line-up at Barry Watts Oval after losing opener Harrison Nicholson to their CRCA Premier League side.
