CRIME TIME: Hydroponic cannabis lab raided at Billy’s Creek
A. MACLEAN, MARCH 8:
Police attended a residence on Woodford St, Maclean, and executed a search warrant. It is alleged that police located a number of cannabis plants, cannabis seeds and cannabis leaf. The 45-year-old male occupant was questioned about these matters and later issued with a court attendance notice for the offences of cultivate prohibited plant, possess prohibited drug and possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs.
B. MACLEAN, MARCH 10:
About 12.50am police were notified as to the damage occasioned to a number of shopfront windows along River St, Maclean. Police attended and located a 20-year-old man who appeared to be intoxicated. It is alleged that man made admissions to police at the scene and he was arrested and conveyed to Maclean Police Station and charged with four counts of destroy or damage property.
C. GRAFTON, MARCH 15:
About 10.20pm a silver Daewoo was stopped at a stationary breath-testing site on Bent St, South Grafton. The 30-year-old female driver was submitted to a breath test that provided a positive result. She was arrested and taken to Grafton Police Station where she provided a reading of 0.140. She was charged with drive with middle range PCA - first offence.
D. BILLYS CREEK, MARCH 17:
About 10.30am police attended a property on Schultz Rd, Billys Creek, and executed a search warrant on the premises. It is alleged that police located an amount of cannabis plants being grown in a hydroponic set-up at the property. The 34-year-old male occupant was arrested and conveyed to Grafton Police Station where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant (commercial quantity), enhanced indoor cultivation plant for commercial purposes and possess prohibited drug. Bail was refused.
E. SOUTH GRAFTON, MARCH 17:
About 1.30pm police stopped a white Toyota Hilux on Iolanthe St, South Grafton.
Police had cause to search the vehicle and occupants and alleged that a backpack was seen in the footwell of the driver.
Contained within this backpack was an amount of methylamphetamine. The 27-year-old male driver was spoken to further about this and issued a field court attendance notice for the offence of possess prohibited drug.
