Cubs come from behind to earn win

THE Grafton Cubs under-11 Australian rules football team took the field against the Coffs Swans.

They did not have a game last week.

With the help of Damien O’Bryan, who is new to the services club, the club has done some recruiting.

The new recruits - Charlie Bindin, Hamish Ellem, Luke Soloman and Lawson Bell - have added talent and enthusiasm to the good crop of talented kids we have.

The Cubs went out and played a great game, with plenty of enthusiasm and energy, which only saw them down by three points at quarter-time.

They had the ball up forward for the most of the game.

The Cubs started to gel as a team as they took to the field in the second-quarter and kicked their very first goal, which was exciting for all the kids.

The Cubs continued on with good momentum, showing lots of good skill with tackling, handballing and marking.

A solid all-round display led them to their first win.

The whole team put in their best effort and this resulted in a good win, and hopefully there will be more to come. Umpire on the day voted Charlie Bindin best on ground.
