Cutting club day

NINETY competitors took part in the Big River Cutting Club's first weekend at Hawthorne Park: the first cutting event at the park for six years.

While Peter Rapmund, who rode A One Trading Skills, had the best aggregate for the weekend, club president Fiona Brown said competitors came from near and far to participate in the Saturday and Sunday competitions.

The club normally operates at Copmanhurst but decided to try the facilities at Hawthorne Park to help attract people from closer to town.

The next big event will be held in May.
