Bikes start new year in top gear

THEY have spent the past few months cooling their heels but the South Grafton Motorcycle Club roared into the new year with their first meet of 2010.

Riders took to Gnudwoc Park in South Grafton for the event included categories for junior riders from 50cc under-4-9 years Demo, under-7-9 years 50cc Auto, 65cc, 85cc two-stroke/150cc four-stroke through to 125cc two-stroke/250cc four-stroke under-13-16 years.

Senior classes catered for Lites and Open machines.

Another new feature for this year’s club days is the addition of a senior Social Class for the social rider.

The day ran from 6am.

The club is set for another big year after being named as a top-five finalist in the Motorcycling NSW 2009 Club of the Year Awards.

Junior members Jacob McLeod and Tom Williams were presented with their state title trophies on the night at Port Macquarie.

Both boys were selected to represent the NSW squad at the Australian Junior Motocross Titles.

The club will be holding six rounds of the Club Championships this year with these events set down for March, April, July, August and the final round in November.
