Daily Examiner in run for award

The Daily Examiner has been named as one of four finalists for the Racing NSW country media award.

The New South Wales Country and Provincial Racing Award night will be held on Friday September 30 at Pyrmont in Sydney.

The Daily Examiner will line up for the gong against Sky Channel personality Gary Kliese, popular industry website Racing And Sports, and Albury's Border Mail.

The award acknowledges excellence in coverage of Country and Provincial racing and has been won by the Daily Examiner before, in 2009.

Former staff member Adam Carroll also won the award as an individual in 2001 and current racing writer Tony White took out the honour in 2005.
