Dancers step out for jive of their lives

THERE were heels and toes in line at Harwood Hall as dancers from across the district stepped together at their Christmas party.

About 50 dancers from Ballina, Grafton, Yamba, Maclean and Iluka came together at the weekend for a country and western-themed jive.

Mary Randall of the Yamba club said it was a great day had by all.

"It was excellent; we danced together and had other activities and games plus tap dancers and a poet who were excellent," Mrs Randall said.

Margaret and Barry Keller did a fine job of making all the props for the event, and Mrs Randall said they were the topic of discussion most of the day.

"The props were just brilliant, blew everyone away," she said.

The Yamba group dances Saturdays from 9am-noon at the bowling club.
