Danny grinds out a great coffee

YOU may have enjoyed a cup or two of their coffee, but if you attend this year's Gate to Plate you will get to meet the man behind that Espresso Botero, Coffee Art's Danny Young.

Danny supplies coffee to well known Grafton and Maclean cafes such as Georgies at the Gallery and ESP Coffee Lounge.

“We are quite proud of ESP as we supply them with over 50kg of coffee per week which is a pretty big deal for a regional cafe.

“Grafton must really love their coffee,” Danny said with a laugh.

While Danny and Coffee Art were involved in last year's Gate to Plate, they are hoping to get a lot more out of the experience this time around. “We have launched our own brand, Espresso Botero, this year, so hopefully people will remember our name and associate it with brilliant coffee,” Danny said.

“We had a great time last year and heaps of fun so jumped at the chance to get back into it.”

Danny started out in the Clarence Valley with his cafe, Coffee Art which he sold a couple of years ago.

“Since selling the cafe, we have been able to move into the wholesale side of things. We supply coffee machinery, coffee beans and pretty much everything you need to make a great espresso,” Danny said.

“We are also very excited because we will shortly begin roasting our own coffee on site. It will be open to the public, and will be quite a sight to see.

“We will also have a website up and running in the next few weeks so the public can access all of our products.

“At the moment however, we are currently working on our own blends to tantalize the senses.”
