‘Death trap’ needs signs
COMING down Clarence Way at 100kmh, past the Sanders Rd turn-off is a death trap, said Copmanhurst resident John Ellem. He said he was appalled there were no "slow down" or "prepare to give way" signs at the top of the hill, which left the Sanders Rd turn a blind spot.
"It's 100kmh through that intersection, so if you're coming out of Sanders Rd and stall your car, you'll get killed," Mr Ellem said. He said the vision was terrible and anyone who wasn't a local and didn't know to slow down past the T-intersection would fly past at full speed.
Clarence Valley Council director of civil works Troy Anderson said council would look at it "from an engineering perspective and if there is anything needed we will take action".
Roads and Maritime Services recorded no fatal accidents at the intersection in the five years to June 2012.
