Delays possible after B-double full of sugar catches fire

BUNDABERG police are advising there may be future delays this morning on the Isis Hwy between Appletree Creek and Bundaberg.

Around 9pm last night, just north of the Cordalba turn-off, a B double combination truck carrying a full load of sugar caught fire.

The load is currently off the highway; however the section of road will be closed at some stage this morning while the load is removed from the scene.

Traffic controllers are on-scene and will assist with alternate traffic flow. The alternate route to Bundaberg from Childers is via Goodwood Rd.

It is believed the fire started in a wheel bearing.
