Dellavedova proves a point, or two for Cavs

NO Kyrie Irving, no worries for Cleveland.

After a quiet game one, Aussie back-up point guard Matthew Dellavedova was outstanding in defence in game two of the NBA finals against Golden State, helping the Cavaliers to a 95-93 win to tie the best-of-seven series at 1-all.

Dellavedova, who chipped in with nine points, including two crucial free throws to give his side the lead inside the last 10 seconds of overtime, also did a great job defensively, restricting league MVP Stephen Curry to just 19 points.

Fellow Aussie Andrew Bogut finished with two points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors.

Cavs superstar LeBron James, who shot a game-high 39 points, was full of praise for Dellavedova, saying: "He defended. He rebounded. He made timely shots. He gave us everything, and more".

Game three is in Cleveland tomorrow morning.
