Design newbies get first win on The Block Triple Threat
A MOODY bedroom delivered Tim and Anastasia their first win on The Block Triple Threat tonight.
The Adelaide couple took more than a few pages from judge and mentor Darren Palmer's book in their new style, splashing out $1000 on cushions alone.
Palmer helped them redecorate their first week bedroom after they failed to match the standard of the other teams.
But they were warned against copy-cat styling.
"They've obviously decided to take what you've taught them and run with it, but run with it even faster and harder and further," judge Neale Whitaker said.
Even with a one-point deduction they still beat all-stars Darren and Deanne by half a point.
The Jimmy Possum bed challenge threw a last-minute spanner in the works for all of the teams, who were told they had to use the beds in their apartments.
Three out of the four teams altered their partially finished rooms to accommodate the beds, while Josh and Charlotte will presumably use theirs in the master bedroom.
But tonight's episode foreshadowed an upcoming penalty for the Sydney couple for not using the bed in their apartment at all.
Based on the other teams' reaction it will be quite harsh, but viewers will have to wait for master bedroom week to find out what it is.
Deanne's leopard-print bedhead polarized judges Shaynna Blaze and Neale Whitaker.
Blaze called it horrendous, while Whitaker called it genius.
"It's a cougar of a room, isn't it? I mean that in a lovely way; it's sexy," he said.
The teams will have two deliver two rooms this week, the cellar and laundry and guest power room.
Week 3 second guest bedroom scores
Tim and Anastasia: 26
Darren and Deanne: 25.5
Josh and Charlotte: 24.5
