Detours to hit traffic at bridge site

ROADS and Maritime Services (RMS) is advising motorists of changed traffic conditions next week at McFarlane Bridge near Maclean while restoration work is carried out.

Closures will be in place next Tuesday and Wednesday between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

Extra work will be carried out on some Sundays with closures of up to 10 hours needed to complete the work quickly. Work will not be carried out next Sunday, June 2.

Electronic message signs will be in and around the Maclean area to advise motorists of the changed traffic conditions. An SMS service and weekly email update will also be sent out detailing the closures. To be included in these updates contact RMS on 131 782 or email reception.grafton.ro@rms.nsw.gov.au.

An alternative route will be available via South Arm and South Arm School roads at Brushgrove and then the Pacific Hwy to Maclean. Motorists are encouraged to plan their journey as the detour is expected to add about 30 minutes to most trips.
