UPDATE, 11,50am: WITH only ten minutes until our Daily Examiner guinea pigs take the Hot Wing Challenge, the boys are starting to sweat.

After Googling "how to prepare to eat chillis", Bill North has lined his stomach with a banana "to ease the internal pain", while Matthew Elkerton has opted for dairy.

Stay tuned to see who can handle the heat.

EARLIER: WITH gloves provided and a waiver to sign, the Austin & Co Waterside Dining Hot Wing Challenge isn't for the faint-hearted.

With the clock timing you all the way, to finish the challenge you must last the 30 minutes with only some water provided to help you through.

Fear not though, because brave Daily Examiner journalists Bill North and Matthew "Moose" Elkerton will take on the challenge today at noon.

Check out our website at www.dailyexaminer.com.au to see a video of their thoughts of how they'll handle the heat.

Also on the video, see some tips from the only person to successfully finish the five winged challenge, Grafton's Terry Deefholts, on how he handled the chilli concoction.
