Leeson leads state to another indoor cricket title
CARLY Leeson continues to achieve everything she possibly can that involves a cricket bat.
Just days after leading NSW Cyclones to victory in the Under-17 Girls National Indoor Cricket Titles in Adelaide, the 15-year-old captained the NSW Blues to the Under-20 Women's National Indoor Cricket title in Melbourne.
She was also one of four Blues named in the Australian Under-20 Women's team to contest the Indoor Cricket World Cup in New Zealand in October.
But it was the manner in which she achieved the feat that made it so exceptional.
As the last pairing in the final, Leeson and batting partner Samantha Arnold entered through the net with NSW Blues on 46, chasing Queensland's total of 96.
The pair kept their cool, accumulating the runs and got the target down to 12 runs off the last over. Scores were level before the last ball, which Arnold knocked into the side net to spark wild celebrations.

Leeson was the very first winner of the Jetts Fitness Junior Sportsperson of the Month when the Daily Examiner introduced the competition back in January.
As a monthly winner it means she is in the running to be named Junior Female Sportsperson of the Year at the Clarence Valley Sports Awards presented by The Daily Examiner with Grafton Shoppingworld at South Services on November 14.
