Disaster payment deadline looming

The deadline for people to apply for the Australian Government’s Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy payments is Thursday.

The Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy helps employees, small business owners and farmers who experienced a loss of income as a direct result of storms or flooding between 29 November, 2010 and February this year.

The subsidy provides a fortnightly payment, equivalent to the maximum relevant Newstart Allowance rate, for a period of up to 13 weeks.

The Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy is available in more than 240 local government areas across the country, including 83 in NSW.

The following links contains the names of the local government areas that are eligible for the Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy in NSW.
