Discover one of the world’s gems, the Tweed Caldera

KRISTINA Drapes knows her away around the hidden gems of the Caldera better than most and is now offering to show the world.

She has started Green Cauldron Tours after falling in love with the area around Mt Warning when she was on the board of Northern Rivers Tourism.

Although the public can visit and even climb MtWarning, there is the cultural and geological history of the area to discover through the company's tours.

"The Wollumbin MtWarning area is one of the most special places on earth, but it is not easy to get beneath the surface," Mrs Drapes said.

"Our tours aim to connect visitors with the people and places you cannot access any other way."

The Green Cauldron is heritage listed with its subtropical rainforests and more than 70 national parks, all created by a massive extinct shield volcano that stretched from Byron Bay north to the Gold Coast.

Another highlight of the new tours is the exclusive locations that are not available to the general public.

"There are places we visit that are not tourist attractions, they are private properties and they are normally not accessible to visitors."

All the tours can be customised to suit the client's needs, another point of difference to your average day trip tour.

"We can cater to almost all requests as far as the tours go, from food to hiking and helicopter tours."

You can check out the company and all the tour options they offer at greencauldrontours.com.au.
