Croak's cold dive

TRAVELLING the world to compete in diving competitions isn’t as glamorous as it seems.

So says Coffs Harbour’s Alexandra Croak who is competing in the FINA MIDEA World Series event being held in the northern English town of Sheffield.

Croak is leading the charge for the Australian team this week but she was quick to point out that the weather in the Old Dart screams taking a dip.

“This is my first time in Sheffield and I am not enjoying the cold weather,” Croak said.

“Despite that I’m looking forward to the competition getting under way.

“I am hoping to continue my recent good form.”

Croak has won four bronze medals at the first two legs of the series in Moscow and Beijing.

Joining the 26-year-old on the Australian Team are Melissa Wu, Sharleen Stratton and Anabelle Smith.

Having won the gold medal at last year’s Commonwealth Games with partner Melissa Wu in the 10 metre synchronised event, Croak is hoping for more medals again in England in preparation for next year’s Olympics in London.
