Doing it online a vital business cog
CLARENCE Valley agency Yoohoo Creative and Digital owner Liza Bloomer says when it comes to online shopping, if you cannot beat them, join them.
Ms Bloomer said a webpage could make a business accessible 24 hours a day and should provide customers with all the information they needed about the business.
She said this meant businesses would save time and money on answering the same questions and gave them the opportunity to compete with larger businesses.
"By having an online presence you are findable," Ms Bloomer said.
"People are time poor and a webpage makes it easier for customers to do business with you. "
However, Ms Bloomer said a lot of businesses in the Clarence Valley had poor websites that could do more damage in the long run than having no website at all.
She said there are many businesses in the Clarence Valley that should update their online presence.
"If a webpage takes a long time to load, is ugly or has poor information I'm going to browse to another website, and so will other potential customers," she said
"I'm a believer in the old adage, 'do what you do well and pay someone else to do the other stuff'."
