Car burnt out in South Grafton

GRAFTON and South Grafton fire brigades attended two burnt out vehicles in separate incidents in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, February 17).

A Coffs Clarence Local Area Command Police spokesman said services attended a burnt out truck in Smith St, Grafton at 2.50am and a car on fire at the intersection of Rushforth Road and Bimble Avenue at 4am.

"At 2.50am at 28 Smith St, Grafton, a Mazda T400 light rigid truck was alight and had been extiniguished by the owner with a hose," the spokesman said.

"At 4am a witness noticed a car on fire a the intersection of Rushforth Road and Bimble Avenue and called triple-O. The fire brigade attended and extinguished the vehicle.

"Police still looking into the cause and speaking to witnesses in relation to both instances."
