Double dip of Black Caviar

SOUTH Australian racing fans are in for a double treat with champion mare Black Caviar to feature in the city's Sportingbet Classic on April 28 and Goodwood Handicap on May 12 before heading to England.

Trainer Peter Moody announced the plan, which would see the champion mare notch up a record-breaking 20th and 21st consecutive victories in Australia, after an impressive 800m jump-out at Caulfield on Tuesday.

The Adelaide excursion will be a key part of Moody's plan to have Black Caviar at her best for the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot in mid-June.

While she toyed with her rivals in the jump-out, Moody said she still needed to improve her fitness before venturing overseas.

In good news for racing officials and fans in Australia, the trainer told TVN Live he was "very keen to see her back here in the spring" after her Royal Ascot assault.

That would mean a possible tilt at the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley in September, before a likely appearance in the Patinack Farm Classic at Flemington, an event she has won for the past two years.
