Double fatal near Wollongbar closes roads

UPDATE 3.30pm: A DOUBLE fatal crash on the Bruxner Highway at Wollongbar has closed the road in both directions.

Emergency services are on the scene and diverting people through Alstonville.

Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time.

The diversion is not suitable for B-Double trucks which are being parked on the side of the highway.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said initial reports were that three vehicles had crashed near Sneaths Rd.

The spokeswoman said paramedics were assisting two patients who were trapped in a car involved in the smash and treating another patient from another vehicle.

 

ORIGINAL 3.15pm: EMERGENCY services are on the scene of a serious crash on the Bruxner Highway near Wollongbar Tafe where two people have died.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said initial reports were three vehicles had crashed near Sneaths Rd.

The spokeswoman said paramedics were assisting two patients who were trapped in a car involved in the smash and treating another patient from another vehicle.

NSW Fire and Rescue, Police, paramedics, SES, police rescue and Rural Fire Service units are on the scene.

Traffic diversions are in place.
