Reports say Kane Douglas leaving Waratahs for Leinster

INTERNATIONAL media is reporting Yamba's Kane Douglas could be leaving the Waratahs.

London-based The Sunday Times is reporting Douglas will be unveiled as English rugby club Leinster's new signing, but Douglas and the Waratahs are yet to confirm.

Reports suggest Leinster will announce signings on Tuesday.

A former Maclean High School student, Douglas memorably captained Yamba Buccaneers to the under-17 title in 2006, and later found himself at Shute Shield side Southern Districts.

He won Shute Shield Rookie of the Year in 2010 and made his Waratahs debut the same year, and has gone on to make 59 appearances in Super Rugby.

In 2012 he became the first Buccaneer to represent his country, making his Wallabies debut against Argentina on the Gold Coast.

He has since played 14 games for the Wallabies.
